Continue reading below for general information about the new Facilities Master Planning Project.
In October 2008, College of the Redwoods entered into a contract with the HMC Architects to work with the representative Facilities Master Planning Committee to efficiently develop a five-year facilities master plan that will help the various colleges realize its district goals.
CR’s collaboration with HMC Architects began with an analysis of CR's institutional data previously gathered over the last two years for facility master planning. The facilities master planning committee and HMC are working in unison with the Educational Master Plan Committee to help College of the Redwoods in reaching its educational goals. HMC Architects will be back on January 28th to show the facilities master planning committee three viable options for the district’s future. The committee will then support one option and will request the district provide opinions and suggestions for the chosen option. Opinions and suggestions will be recorded in an online collaborative process located on the facilities master planning web site.
Overall, the Redwood Community College district and HMC Architects are committed to a facilities master plan work calendar that describes specific tasks, meeting schedules, deadlines, and responsibilities. This calendar ensures that a final draft of the Redwood Community College District facilities master plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval at the April 2009 meeting.
